  4. I finally read “Lady Susan” by Jane Austen. I’m not sure why I waited so long! It’s a short but very funny character study, written in letters. I would say more but I don’t want to ruin the fun of the character development, as the letters unfold, for anyone who hasn’t read it yet (I’m looking at you Ms. Smedley).

  5. I was in Rittenhouse eating lunch this afternoon when there was a silent protest, but as they got closer I realized it was some crazy marketing for the new season of Torchwood!

  8. "The book was black and covered with dust. Its boards bowed and creaking; it had been mistreated in its own time. Its spine was missing, or, rather, protruded from amongst the leaves like a bulky marker. It was bandaged about with dirty white tape, tied in a neat bow… Roland undid the bindings. The book sprang apart, like a box, disgorging leaf after leaf of faded paper, blue, cream, grey, covered with rusty writing, the brown scratches of a steel nib."

  9. Book Shelf

On my reading list right now…

Possession: A Romance By A.S. Byatt (re-reading this one right now. Such an amazing book, and so intricate and elaborate it definitely deserves multiple reads.)

The Classic Illustrated Sherlock Holmes By SirAuthor Conan Doyle  (This edition has most of the short stories and “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. Not sure which ones I’m going to read yet.)

The Mysteries of Udolpho By Ann Radcliffe

Just a few to start. this list is very much subject to changes and additions, and my getting distracted by a different book I come across.

I am going to start posting favorite quotes from the book(s) I’m reading as I go. Yay to figuring out a direction for this blog!
